Take off in comfort

10th Sep 2019

Picture this…

The alarm on your phone goes off. It’s still dark outside. 3am to be exact. Taxi arrives in 30 mins. You pop your uniform on, and the next minute you are on the plane greeting passengers and asking them to pop their seatbelts on. The day is off to a flying start . 14 hours later, you are in a hotel on the other side of the world. You are exhausted. Your feet are swollen and you wondered why on earth you bought the cheap shoes with the 5-inch heel.

Okay, that was a remarkably accurate description of your day yesterday. So, we have one *very concerning* question for you right now. At the risk of sounding like your mother, “How’s your feet feeling?” If the answer is a groaning “ACHING!”, then keep reading.

Not only can uncomfortable shoes damage your feet, they can make those long flights so much harder than they need to be! In our efforts here at Green’s Footwear to turn our beautiful flight attendants’ long days into delightfully comfortable ones, we have a great range of shoes that are backed by Virgin Australia, Qantas and Jetstar.

Now before we go straight into our top four recommended shoes that are both fashionable and comfortable, we have a few tips!

1. Investing in the best shoes specifically approved by airlines is a must. Don’t buy your shoes on price, buy them on comfort.

2. Choose style too! There are a range of shoes that are comfortable yet stylish and classy.

3. Check your heels! Ensuring your perfect shoe is at a comfortable height can make the world of difference to a long haul.

4. Ideally make sure they are non-slip or slip-resistant. Wearing shoes that you can rely on allows you to confidently look after your passengers.

5. Keep yourself protected. As an Australian flight attendant, you are in a small percentage of employees who work exceptionally long hours. Don’t underestimate this. Find the perfect shoe that gives you the ultimate protection, particularly look after your ankles and heels.

Here are our top four recommendations and don’t worry we understand that super high heels and turbulence aren’t a good match.
